Design & Remodeling

Remodel it to sell. Or remodel it to stay.

Hucks Homes takes on remodel and design projects for two kinds of owners: sellers getting a house ready for the market, and homeowners upgrading the one they plan to keep. Either way, Nyla runs the whole thing — design, scheduling, subcontractors, and oversight.

A kitchen remodel in progress — new cabinetry installed, tile backsplash partly laid

Two reasons to open up a house.

Getting a house ready to sell

Some houses go on the market ready. Some need work first, and guessing which work is a good way to spend money in the wrong rooms. Nyla looks at the house the way buyers will, tells you which projects are worth doing before you list, and which ones are not — then runs the ones that are.

Upgrading the home you are keeping

No listing, no deadline — just a house you like in a place you like, with rooms that need to catch up. Nyla handles the design and the project both, whether that is one room or a whole-home refresh.

Selling, but the money is in the house?

For a lot of sellers the honest problem is not deciding on the work — it is paying for it before the house closes. On the right project, Nyla is open to financing the remodel so the work gets done now and settles up at closing. It is a conversation, not a program: every house and every situation is different, so ask her what it could look like for yours.

The house that could not sell.

A homeowner had a house on the market that would not sell. Nyla remodeled it. After the remodel, it sold.

That is the whole story, and we are telling it without the usual dressing — no dramatic numbers, no before-and-after price. If you want the details, ask Nyla. She remembers all of them.

To be equally straight: not every house needs a remodel to sell, and if yours does not, she will say so.

You hire one person. She brings the rest.

A remodel usually means becoming your own general contractor for months: finding trades, sequencing them, catching the mistakes. Here that job is Nyla’s. Yours is telling her what you want the house to be.

  1. 01

    One person runs it

Nyla manages the project herself: the design, the schedule, and the oversight while the work is underway. You are not chasing three phone numbers to find out what happens next week.

  2. 02

    Her subcontractors, not a search

You do not start by hunting for trades and hoping. She brings the subcontractor connections she already has and coordinates them through the job.

  3. 03

Involved as much as you want to be

She has run whole projects for owners who live out of state. And if you are the opposite — you want to be in the middle of every selection — she is happy to work hand-in-hand. Both are normal here.

  4. 04

    Judgment from her own projects

The confidence comes from doing this with her own money on the line: flipping houses and designing every new home Hucks Homes builds.

Staging comes with the listing.

When Nyla lists your home, staging help is part of how she works: she will stage, rearrange what you already own, and declutter — hands-on herself, or through the staging partners she trusts. It is one of the reasons sellers list with her, not a line item on an invoice.

Staging on its own, without a listing, is not a service we offer — and we would rather tell you that here than after you call.
